-firearm
-air gun
-pistol
-restricted weapon

A

Possession means the same as carrying as well as:

  • any person in occupation of any land or building
  • the driver of any vehicle in which a firearm etc is found, is deemed to be in possession of that firearm unless they can prove:
    1) it was someone else’s property
    2) it was in someone else’s possession

Arms Act 1983

A

The occupier of buildings/land and the driver of a vehicle are deemed to be ‘in possession’ of any firearms etc found in their car/premises UNLESS they can prove that:

-The firearm was not their property and that it was in possession of some other person.
