6.3.1 & 6.3.4 Atoms in chemical reactions & Conservation of Mass Flashcards

1
Q

What is conservation of mass?

A

In any chemical reaction, although the atoms are rearranged the number and mass of each type of atom does not change. This means the total mass of the reactants is equal to the total mass of the products. Mass is also conserved in physical changes.
