* first intro of warmth to the stave (also the book)
* power of fam - v significant as previously described as ‘external heat and cold’ had ‘little’ effect on Scrooge - Fred is stronger than the forces of nature, showing power of family and ability to change one’s life
* warmth = family = fire - something not large in scrooge’s office - only bob seemed to be upset by this
* personality - fred is a ‘jolly’ person, his personality is also warm = fam warmth spreads to everyone and makes them a better person, both personality and physical

* family is a basic nessecity - significant for the crachits r their happiness w/ each other despite lacking basic needs e.g. ‘waterproof shoes’, family is their basic need to live happily
* family is universal between classes - shown that fred, someone middle, and crachit, someone lower, both value family a large amount shows there is one definite factor linking them - all humans need a loving family, no matter what class

* family lasts forever & is a grounding force - one of the last sentences within ACC, shows it stretches thru out the entire novella and is there till the end, ur family be there no matter what changes happen
* has power to change ppl for the better - contrast between beginning scrooge presented as ‘solitary’, but the idea of being a father to tim has changed him v much

* loss of belle - may specifically reflect his sadness @ losing a life with belle, and starting a family w/ her
* ‘spring’ - new beginnings, transformations, life, colour (flowers), talk abt how scrooge could have been transformed earlier if family cam earlier
* first sense/value of having his own fam we see

* repetition of ‘little’ - bob thought he was vunerable, for 2 reasons: he was disabled & children need protection, emphasises how young tim has died - heightens readers emotions, makes them emphasises more w/ crachits and appreciate value of family
* exclamation marks - emphasises his pain and sadness by making it seem louder - readers empathise
* ‘my’ - personal pronoun, makes it seem more personal - readers empathise
