A

As Henry was married to Catherine of Aragon, and Catherine couldn’t give him an heir anymore, Henry needed to divorce and remarry to attempt to have a male heir that was legitimate. If the child’s conception was before two people were married they would be illegitimate to the throne. As the pope refused to give Henry an annulment, Henry had to find a way out so he decided to become head of the church so that he could give himself an annullment.

A

As the Catholic church had lots of power, the church could tell the people what to do and Henry didn’t like this. To stop this he converted England to a Protestant.country meaning the Pipe didn’t have as much power in England as he did before.
