Q

Trigger finger

A
  • flexor tenosynovitis
  • thickening and inflammation of tenosyvonium or pulleys, leading to tendon nodule formation,
  • usually affecting A1 pulley
  • mechanical locking in a flexed position.
  • MOI: repetitive digital flexion
  • ( + ) slight clicking
  • tx: buddy splint exercise

Tenosynovium fxn: allow friction less muacg in flexor tendons
Pulleys- maintain tendons in place

A
  • inflammation and entrapment of the tendons: abductor pollicis longus ( apollo ) and extensor pollicis brevis
  • MOI: repetitive gripping with ulnar deviations

Q

Dupuytrens disease

A
  • contracture of the palmar fascia
  • MC affected fifth digit
  • stages: ( 3 )
  1. Proliferation- increase myofibroblast
  2. Involution- mF align tension tiles
    3 myofibrolblast- resolve
