What is the difference between a Contractors WI and PM’s WI?

A

Contractor’s Works Information includes specific safety
requirements

Employer’s requirements for work to be designed by
the Contractor.

Can a WI change? Who is able to change it?

A

Yes

Only a project manager can issue an instruction to
change the works information, see clause 14.3.

This applies, even if it may stall the project

A

Is WI a Compensation Event?

A

To an extent.

If the works information does not include everything that the contractor need to know or if the WI is inconsistent, the PM must issue an instruction changing it. These reasons are compensation events.

It is not a Compensation Event if the event falls within one of the categories set out in the four bullet points at the beginning of clause 61.4.

A

If the WI does not include everything that the contractor need to know. for example the colour of the paint.

What is a Risk Register? What does it include?

A

a register of the risk which are listed in the contract data and the risks which the project manager or the
contractor has notified as an early warning matter.

It should include a description of the risk and a description of the actions which are to be taken to avoid or reduce the risk.

What occurs at the Earning Warning Meeting?

A
  1. Making and considering proposals for how the effect the registered risks can be avoid or reduced
  2. Finding solutions that will bring advantage to all those who will be affected;
  3. Deciding on the actions which will be taken and who, in accordance this contract, will take them
  4. Deciding which risks have now been avoided or have passed and can be removed from the risk register.
