Convection current
The air that follows through as cold or hot
Sea breeze
A breeze that blows to the land from the sea during the day
Land breeze
A breeze blowing to the sea from land at night
Coriolis effect
The mass moving in a rotating system experiences a force also this is an ex: a boy a girl and another boy are spinning on something the girl throws it while moving it comes back it first acts like going straight then curves it is an optical illusion.
Jet stream
An air current that goes around the world several miles above earth.
Doldrums
A place near equator that has very few winds.
Trade winds
A cold wind blowing to the equator and hot air comes back
Polar easterlies
Winds that are found near poles also they move east to west.
Prevailing winds
Winds that blow away from equator and brings warmer weather to the poles.
Prevailing westerlies
Winds that blow away from the equator and blow west to east also found over the USA.
Gulf Stream
An ocean current that brings warmer temps to the eastern coast of the U.S.
El Niño
Band of warm ocean temps that develop off the coast of South America can cause droughts to warm up.
La Niña
Band of cold ocean temps that develop off the coast of South America (can cause more precipitation cools down climates)
