general idea of Thorndike’s research?
A
used a puzzle box with a single exit that could only be opened with levers
hungry cat placed inside box whilst food was placed outside
when moving around accidently pressed levers but learned by trial and error how to open the box
Thorndike called this law of effect - if the effect of learning to get out of the box is good then he behaviour is learnt and repeated
