Aberration
Something that differs from the norm in a negative way. It’s not good that it’s different.
Clandestine
Secretive, concealed, often for illicit reasons. (reasons that are not allowed or approved of, they are naughty)
Confidant
One person that you tell your secrets to.
Debase
To corrupt or degrade. To lower the quality, particularly morally.
Incisive
Sharp, intelligent, piercing
Venerable
Respected, revered
Convention
A typical trait of a genre, perhaps an identifying feature. Or a large formal assembly
Acquiesce
To agree or submit without protesting
Cumulative
Collectively increasing, accumulating
Fractious
Irritable, cross, touchy
Gratuitous
Over the top, unjustified, superfluous, un-deserved
Inept
Incompetent, clumsy, awkward, useless
Umbrage
Offence, hurt, angry. To take umbrage, it to take offence, to feel hurt, to be disgruntled
Vex
Annoy, irritate, frustrate, provoke
