Muscle bruised caused by muscle compression from an external force.

The 3 grades of contusions?

Mild - 2-3 weeks, can continue playing, small decrease in ROM
Moderate - 4-6 weeks, may prevent playing, half ROM
Severe - Rapid swelling and bleeding, almost no ROM, 8+ weeks
