What are the types of noise-induced hearing loss?
Temporary and permanent
What are some examples of vestibular disorders?
BPPV, Meniere’s disease, Vestibular migraine
What does an audiogram show us?
It shows us the pitch and how loud a sound has to be on tests, find the threshold of both the frequency and intensity that can be heard
If both the bone and air conduction test are in the impaired range and have an equal threshold, What does this tell us?
That there is sensorineural hearing loss
If the bone conduction threshold is better then air, what does this tell us?
There is conductive hearing loss
If both are impaired but are not at equal thresholds, what does this tell us?
There is mixed hearing loss
What is speech recognition threshold?
The softest level speech can be recognized
What is word recognition score?
Percentage of words recognized at a comfortably loud level
What is speech in noise?
Percentage of words recognized in a sentence with multi-talker babble in the background
