Weather is the state of the atmosphere at any time.
What are the four main conditions of weather?
temperature, wind, cloud cover, rainfall
What is someone who studies weather called?
Meteorologist
What does temperature refer to?
How hot or cold it is
How is temperature measured?
Using a thermometer
What is precipitation?
It is any form of moisture that falls from the sky to Earth and can take the form of rain, hail or snow.
What do you use to catch and measure rain?
Rain gauge
What are the clouds that look like sheets called?
Stratus
What are the clouds that look like piles/heaps called?
Cumulus - looks like a pile of fluffy cotton
What are the clouds that are curly called?
Cirrus - curly, thin and high up
What are rainy-looking clouds called?
Nimbus - Huge, dark storm clouds
What are very high clouds called?
Alto
What is wind?
It is moving air
How do meteorologists predict weather?
By looking at the sky and seeing what fraction of an eighth of it is covered in clouds
What is the average human body temperature?
37 degrees
