What are the signs and symptoms of vu; val intraepithelial neoplasia?
Severe itch
What is the clinical appearance of VIN?
Raised papulae, plaques or lesions Erosions, nodules, warty Keratotic roughened appearance Sharp border Discolouration- red, white, brown/pigmented
How is VIN diagnosed?
Punch biopsy under local anaesthetic
What are the goals of treatment of VIN?
Prevent invasive disease
Eliminate symptoms
Preserve sexual function
Presevre body image
What are the treatment options for VIN?
Surgery
Topical treatment
Laser ablation
What are the types of vulval cancer?
Squamous cell carcinoma- most common
Basal cell carcinoma
Melanoma
Bartholin’s gland
What are the signs and symptoms of vulval cancer?
Pain
Itch
Bleeding
Lump/ulcer
What is the management of vulval cancer?
Surgery
Radiotherapy
Chemotherapy
What are the surgical options for vulval cancer?
Radical local excision
