Wide mouth of a river where it meets the sea

Peninsula
A body of land surrounded by water on almost all sides, like the state of Florida
Isthmus
A narrow strip of land connecting two larger bodies of land
Strait
A narrow waterway connecting two larger bodies of water
Lagoon
A pond or shallow body of seawater enclosed by land
Tributary
A river that flows into a larger river
Delta
A triangular shaped area of land at the mouth of a river, like the Nile River Delta
Hemisphere
One half of the earth
Meridian
An imaginary line on the earth passing through the north and south poles (vertical)
Latitude
Distance north or south of the equator
Longitude
Distance east or west of Greenwich, England
Arroyo
The bed of a stream, or a gully. It also means stream in Spanish
Atoll
A circular coral reef rising above and surround a lagoon
Archipelago
Group or chain of many islands
Tropic of Cancer
The northern tropical area (above the equator in the northern hemisphere, our part of the world)
Tropic of Capricorn
The southern tropical area (south of the equator)
The Torrid Zone
Tropical areas of the world (the area between the Tropic of Capricorn and Tropic of Cancer lines)
Timberline
The line north of which it is so cold that trees cannot grow
