Mentioning something from a story, history, or culture to help explain your point.

Repeating similar vowel sounds for a nice sound, like “meet the sea”

A song-like poem that tells a story.
What is consonance
Repeating similar constant sounds for a nice sound, like “lady and red”

The style of the poem( word choice)

When a sentence/phrase flows from one line to the next.
What is free verse
Poetry without a set of rhyme or rhythm, kind of like a regular convo

Comparisons without using “like” or as”
What is meter
The beat or rhythm in a poem
What is onomatopoeia
Words that sound like the thing they’re describing,like “buzz” for a bee.
What is rhythm
A pattern of sounds that make the poem sound nice and flows smoothly.
What is simile
Comparing things using “like” or “as” to make it easy to understand.
What is a stanza
A group of lines in a poem, like a little poem inside a big poem.
What is symbol
A thing that stands for something deeper or hidden in the poem.
