Great Compromise
It blended the Virginia and New Jersey Plans as a model for representation in the two houses of Congress: states would be represented equally in the Senate, and proportionately in the House of Representatives.

checks and balances
With checks and balances, each of the three branches of government can limit the powers of the others. This way, no one branch becomes too powerful.

- executive= headed president(commands armed forces, vetoing laws, etc.)
- legislative= headed by congress(house and senate) makes laws
- judicial= headed by supreme court (reviewing laws)

reserved right of ppl. , It provides that the naming of certain rights in the Constitution does not take away from the people rights that are not named.

powers reserved to states or people. The Tenth Amendment reserves to the states all powers that are not granted to the federal government by the Constitution, except for those powers that states are constitutionally forbidden from exercising.
