-link between nervous system and endocrine system
-coordinates pituitary gland
-regulates emotion, body temp, heart rate

-relay station between forebrain and hindbrain
what is the pons and what do they do
relay centre between right and left halves of cerebrum
what is the cerebral cortex and what does it do
-thin outer layer covering grey matter
-receive and integrate sensory info
-responsible for language, memory, personality
what is the blood brain barrier
-layer of glial cells and blood vessels
-separates blood from the CNS
-controls entrance of substances into the brain
