Unit 5-Quadrilaterals Flashcards
Define ‘Quadrilateral’
A four-sided polygon
Define ‘Parallelogram’
A quadrilateral in which both pairs of opposite sides are parallel
Define ‘Rectangle’
A parallelogram in which at least one angle is a right angle
Define ‘Rhombus’
A parallelogram in which at least two consecutive sides are congruent
Define ‘Square’
A parallelogram which is both a rectangle and a rhombus
Define ‘Kite’
A quadrilateral in which two disjoint pairs of consecutive sides are congruent
Define ‘Trapezoid’
A quadrilateral with exactly one pair of parallel sides. The parallel sides are called bases.
Define ‘Isosceles Trapezoid’
A trapezoid in which the non-parallel sides (legs) are congruent
