surgical intervention, clot dissolving medication, treating underlying causes such as giving aspirin to people at risk

enlargement of the heart that results in decreased cardiac output and backing up of blood into pulmonary and systemic circulation

signs of PE
SOB/dyspnea, orthopnea, cough
fluid backing up into the body (systemic) system
peripheral edema. signs include swelling in hands and feet, swelling in the abdomen (ascites)
what causes dialated cardiomyopathy
advanced age, hereditary, alcoholism
is there a cure for dilated cardiomyopathy
no, but there are medications to remove excess fluid and strengthen the heart
