Q
neoliberalism
A
- an approach to social policy that minimizes government and enlists state help to encourage free markets and competition
- a political approach that favors free-market capitalism, deregulation, and reduction in government spending
- used to refer to market-oriented reform policies such as “eliminating price controls, deregulating capital markets, lowering trade barriers” and reducing, especially through privatization and austerity, state influence in the economy
2
Q
ethical consumption
A
- the conscious and deliberate decision to make certain consumption choices due to personal moral beliefs and values
- ex: buying secondhand, researching companies before purchasing, just general awareness
- everything has to come from somewhere, and if it’s cheap, it’s probably not ethical
- almost impossible to truly have 100% ethical consumption
