What is a ULTRASOUND?
A
sound waves with frequencies above the normal human range of hearing.

How many kHz must is be to be classified as an ultrasound?
A
Higher than 20 kHz as ultrasound, up to 100 kHz

Explain how an image can be created using ultrasound?
A
The picture is generated by ultrasound waves which interact with the fat, muscles, bones and fluids of the body. The waves either reflect or are absorbed.

Describe medical benefits of ultrasound.
A
-Non-invasive. No need for surgery and is usually painless.
-Fairly inexpensive way to diagnose.
-No radiation is used.
-Gives a very clear image. We can create a 3d image.
