What’s flood lighting?

Lighting suitable for washing the stage and illuminating the scenery.

What’s fresnel lighting?

Lighting with a ‘softer’ edge/spotlight. You can adjust the beam of a fresnel with adjustable barn doors on the end of the light. Usually use to light up a person/section of the stage.

What’s profile lighting?

Answer 3

Lighting that is very closely controlled. You can put a gobo in the lantern gate and project it onto the stage, or place a gel there to change the colour of the wash. The beam is focused using shutters.

What is Parcan lighting?

Answer 4

Lighting that produces very intense light quality. Useful for providing deep colours or particular lighting effects.
