Trigonometry Flashcards
Where is the opposite?
On the opposite side of the angle and the hypotenuse
Where is the hypotenuse?
On the diagonal side
Where is the adjacent?
On the side with the angle and right angle square thing
SOH
Sin = opp divide hyp
CAH
Cos = adj divide hyp
TOA
Tan = opposite divide adj
When your finding the x side and its this way round? X/A
If the trinagle is Sin (for example) u do SinB (whatever number the angle is) divide X/A. You then switch it around so it becomes X = A x SinB
When your finding the x side and its this way round? A/X
You first write down Sin/Cos/Tan B (whatever number the angle is) and then u write = A/X. U then switch it around so it becomes x = A/sin,cos,tan B
What should Hyp always be?
The biggest number
What to do when X is your angle?
If the traingle is cos, u write down CosX = A/B
Change it around so it becomes X = Cos-1 (A/B)
You use inverse cos for this, same with sin and tan
