What are the different types of Glandular Secretion in Epithelial Tissue?
Exocrine or Endocrine
What are the functions of Connective Tissue?
Binds and supports tissue,
Insulates and protects organs,
Major transport system (blood),
Energy store
What are the 2 elements of Connective Tissue?
Connective tissue cells and extracellular matrix
What are the physical properties of Bone and Cartilage?
Bone - Hard, not pliable
Cartilage - Firm, but pliable
What is the function of Fibroblasts?
Synthesise fibres
What is the function of Macrophages?
Defence; engulf bacteria
What is the function of Plasma Cells?
Defence/Immune; secrete antibodies
What is the function of Mast Cells?
Produce histamine; dilate blood vessels
What is the function of Adipocytes?
Fat cells; energy store
What are the 3 types of Cartilage?
Hyaline Cartilage,
Elastic Cartilage,
Fibrocartilage
