Comparative rule 1
short vowel = double the consonant + -er
Comparative rule 2
long (double) vowel = one vowel falls away + -er

words ending on -r = add -der

words ending on -g:
a) short vowel = add -ter
b) long vowel = different things can happen

words ending on -f = change to -w (double w if a short vowel) +er

if it ends in -lik = doesn’t get a double consonant, just + -er

if it ends in -ig, -ag, -eg = + -ter
