Trans Radial socket trimlines Flashcards
1
Q
Very Short TR (VSBE) < 35% of original limb
A
Anterior trim line: distally from the elbow axis about 1-2” or enough to allow 90 deg of elbow flexion
Posterior trim line: encase olecranon when the elbow is flexed, but does not dig in proximally when fully extended
2
Q
short TR (35-55% of original limb)
A
Anterior: Distally from the elbow joint approx 2” to allow full flexion
Posterior: To allow elbow flexion without the olecranon displacing the socket.
3
Q
Long TR (35-55% of original limb) Wrist Disartic
A
Anterior: 2.5-4” distal from axis of the elbow, to allow full flexion and rotation of the forearm.
Posterior: 1”distal to olecranon
