What is a gantt chart?
Shows activities displayed against time
How does the gantt chart work?
Activities represented by a bar; the length and position reflects the start and end date
What does the gantt chart show?
- What the various activities are
- When they begin and end
- Where activities overlap with each other
What is critical path analysis also know as?
A network analysis
What is a critical path analysis?
CPA is the process that allows for the overall time of a project to be calculated.
What is critical path analysis commonly used in?
manufacturing and construction
What are the 2 parts of the network?
Activity and node
What are the characteristics of a network activity?
Require resources, drawn as an arrow
What is a node?
A circle which represents the start and end of an activity
What is the formula for earliest start time?
EST of previous activity + duration of previous activity
Where is the earliest start time written?
On the top right side of the node
What is the latest finishing time?
The latest time an activity will end
What is the formula for latest finishing time?
LFT at end of following activity - duration of following activity
Where is the latest finishing time written?
On the bottom right side of the node
