What is a ray of light

What is a beam of light
bundle of light rays, can be parallel, convergent or divergent
What is the incident ray
A ray of light striking a surface
What is the point of incidence
point where light ray comes in contact with the surface
When does regular reflection occur
Parallel beam of light falls on smooth surface, reflected ray is parallel, image is clear and undistorted
When does irregular reflection occur
Parallel beam of light falls onto rough surface, reflected rays are scattered in different directions, the image is diffused
What are the characteristics of an image in a plane mirror
Upright
Same size
Same distance behind mirror
Virtual
Laterally inverted
What is the difference between a concave mirror and a convex mirror
Concave: Mirror bent inwards, image is magnified
Convex: mirror bent outwards, image is smaller
Define refraction
bending of light when travelling from one transparent medium to another
Define refractive index and the 2 formulas to find it
Ratio of speed of light in vacuum to speed of light in medium
