Bridge
In sonata form, a modulating transition that links the first and second thematic sections of the exposition.
rondo
An instrumental form from 17th century and on in which a refrain alternates with contrasting episodes (e.g. ABACA, ABACABA, ABCA)
Cadenza
A virtuosic display passage, often improvised by a soloist, as in an aria or concerto.
Singspiel
German opera of the 18th/19th centuries with spoken dialogue replacing recitative.
Development
The technique of reworking or developing in some way previously stated themes and motives; the central portion of ternary sonata form.
Sonata form (sonata-allegro)
A form most often used in the first movements of sonatas, string quartets, symphonies, and so on, with 3 principal section: exposition, development, recapitulation.
double exposition
In the first movement of a concerto, the double statement of the main themes, first by the orchestra then by the soloist.

Small-scale fugue
Minuet/trio
A Baroque dance in a moderate triple meter; often used as a movement in such classical instrumental works as the symphony, string quartet, and sonata.

More broadly used in the arts to describe the idea of a revival of classical antiquity. In the 18th century, coincided with the Enlightenment (can be considered second wave, 1st being 16th century)
French Revolution
A period of radical political and societal change in France in the late 18th century.
Opera buffa
Italian comic opera of the 18th/early 19th centuries. Typically with characters drawn from everyday life (compared to opera seria, which was mostly non-comic/dealt w gods and heroes)
