What is an adverb?
Modifies a verb indicating why, where, when, and how an action is performed
ex: she writes well
What is an adverbial clause?
They have the same function as adverbs but they have a subject, and predicate, and are introduced by conjunctions or conjunctive phrases
ex: Te ayudaré cuando (tú) me necesites - I’ll help you when you need me
What are the eight conjunctive phrases that are always followed by the subjunctive?
- a fin de que
- a menos que
- a no ser que
- con tal (de) que
- en caso (de) que
- no sea (fuera) que
- para que*
- sin que*
*need a change in subject, if not then they’re just “para” and “sin” no que
