The Shoulder and Arm Flashcards

1
Q

This is the primary joint of the shoulder, located btw the head of the humerus and the glenoid cavity of the scapula. It is extremely mobile and far less stable than the hip.

Q

Has two origins. The short head originates at the coracoid process and the long head originates from a tubercule above the glenoid cavity. It inserts on the radial tuberosity and the bicipital aponeurosis of the medial forearm. It is primarily a flexor and supinator of the forearm.

Q

means broadest muscle of the back. it originates from T7 to the sacrum and it inserts on the bicipital ridge of the humerus. by wrapping around the lower trunk it helps preserve structural integrity especially in movements requiring strength. It is one of the primary lifting muscles of the back.

Latissimus Dorsi
