1665-1667

Charles II pass Nav. Acts, English privateers captured New Amsterdam 1664

Dutch burnt English ships, burnt crops and killed in the Caribbean- contributed to Charles’ near bankruptcy

concluded with Treaty of Breda- England kept New Amsterdam but had to weaken Nav. Acts and couldn’t trade nutmeg
