- Vocal hygiene: Voice rest and hydration
- Medications: Systemic steroids & PPI
- Inhaled steroid can dry the VF and are generally less favourable

- Voice rest!
- Stop any anticoagulants
- Humidity and Hydration
- Mucolytic (Guaifenesin - Humibid)
- Anti-reflux
- Reassess in a week prior to next performance

- Vocal rest until day of performance
- Modify practice schedule
- Increase amplification measures
- Alter repertoire for the upcoming performance
- Use feel of singing rather than sound quality
- Sing in normal, unforced voice without whispering
- Offer steroids for short term
- Antitussive agent (if cough is a problem)
- Educate about increased risk of VF hemorrhage that could cause permanent damage
- Follow up after performance, and counsel as to when normal activities can be restarted
