Thomas Hobbes, what did he do and what does he believe in?
Created the social contract, believes man is inherently bad.
What was the social contract?
Individuals consent to surrender some freedom to the government for security.
Who is John Locke? What did he do and how did expand the social contract
He expanded the government by saying how a government that doesn’t protect your freedom should be overthrown. He created natural rights that we naturally have and need to be respected. Those are life, liberty and property. Limited government
Who is Rousseau? What were his beliefs
Collective will of the people, believed man was good and society corrupt him.
Who is Montesquieu
Made three branches, executive, Legislative, Judicial.
What do the three branches do
Executive executes the laws, legislative makes the laws, judicial interprets the laws

Freedom of speech and freedom of religion
