When was Bloody Sunday?
January 9, 1905
Give two reasons why the peasants were so poor.
- Factory owners did not pay the peasants well. Workers were paid minimum wage
- Farmer peasants could barely feed themselves, they sold their crops for money
Why was the issue of land so important to peasants?
Many of them needed the food and extra money to sell or feed themselves and some of that money was also used to pay off debts
What were the three political parties?

Liberal middle classes thought people had an opportunity to run the country through a parliament
Why was the outbreak of war a good thing for the Tsar?
Because people United to fight a common enemy which resulted in the Tsar becoming more popular
Differences between provisional government and the Soviet?
Provisional government- created to run the country until elections for a future government could be held
Soviet- consisted of workers and soldiers’ representatives who looked after their own interests

Horrendous as developers struggled to deal with the demand for homes. Many lived in communal homes (like in army head-quarters). Others were forced to sleep in the factories they worked in.
