Test 1: Angle Pairs Flashcards
Supplementary Angles
Angles on a line that add up to 180 degrees
Same Side Exterior Angles (Consecutive Exterior Angles)
The pairs of angles on one side of the transversal but outside the two lines (only true if the two lines are parallel)
Complementary Angles
Angles on a line that add up to 90 degrees
Same Side Interior Angles (Consecutive Interior Angles)
The pairs of angles on one side to the transversal but inside the two lines (only true if the two lines are parallel)
Transversal
A line that crosses two or more other lines
Adjacent Angles
Two angles that share a side and a common vertex
Vertical Angles
Two angles that are directly across from each other in an intersection
Corresponding Angles
The angles in matching corners (only true if the two lines are parallel)
Alternate Interior Angles
The pairs of angles on opposite sides of the transversal but inside the two lines (only true if the two lines are parallel)
Alternate Exterior Angles
The pairs of angles on opposite sides of the transversal but outside the lines (only true if the two lines are parallel)
