• Many computer systems, such as web servers and data centres, need to be left running continuously. This requires lots of energy to maintain.
• generating electricity to power computers create pollution
• computers are difficult to recycle, and discarded components can lead to land, water and air pollution due to harmful materials such as lead and mercury leaking into the environment
• smartphone trends are also negative to the environment as new devices released yearly .
• to lessen this environmental impact people should reuse and recycle their devices

However, many devices are now more power efficient than their predecessors and some companies have come up with innovative ways to save power.
