What are technical textiles
Materials and products that are manufactured for their technical and performance properties rather than their aesthetic characteristics
What are conductive fabrics
Fabrics which either have conductive fibres in them or conductive powders
Where van Fire-Resistant fabrics be used
Fire fighter’s suits, children’s night wear and furnishings.
Some have to have it by law

What does Nome do
It thickens when heated, therefore increasing the protection, while staying flexible so that it does not affect movement

Is Kevlar a strong material

Tensile strength is 8x greater than steel wire

Does not melt, can withstand up to 450 degrees

What is Gore-Tex
Designed to be waterproof yet breathable
How does Gore-Tex work
Contains a layer of plastic (Teflon) which has lots of tiny pores.
Each hole is too small for water droplets but big enough for sweat to pass through
