What is reline?
A
- adding new base material to tissue surface of an existing denture in a quantity sufficient to fill space which exists between original denture contour and altered tissue contour

Temporary Reline
A
- tissue conditioning for when grossly ill fitting dentures
- post immediate dentures
- after Imp surgery

A
- useful if parafunctional habits
- very atrophic ridges
- in cancer/ cleft patients

- plastisizer leaches

A
- usually hard acrylic
- useful in peripheral seal problems
- inadequate master impression: correction of erros
- immediate/ post-immediate dentures
- prolongs lifespan of some older dentures

Rebase technique Clinical aspect
A
- before taking imp, undercuts are removed from denture
- wash impression taken using close mouth technique
- imp poured in stone
- overcast in plaster is used
- overcast is then separated
- denture is then removed to reveal working model
- Post dam is carved at junction of hard and soft palate
- fitting surface and palate removed to allow space for new acrylic
- the cut back denture is then placed back onto overcast
- sticky wax is used to hold denture in place
- gaps are filled with wax
- overcast can be removed to maintain position of denture in relation to model and maintain vertical dimension
- palate is added in wax
