What are your Additional Powers?
a) Securing a place, vehicle or other thing to be searched and excluding any person from there (section 116)
b) Powers of detention incidental to search of places or vehicles (section 118)
c) Powers of search by a person who has a power of arrest (section 119)
d) Stopping vehicles for search (121)
e) Moving vehicles for the search/safekeeping (section 122)
f) Seizure of items in plain view (section 123)
g) Items of uncertain status may be seized (section 112)
What are your Obligations of Entry?
a) Identify yourself by name or QID
b) Provide evidence of Identity if not in uniform
c) State the name of the Act and reason for your search
d) Announce your intention to enter and search
e) Provide a copy of the SW
Where occupants are detained for the purpose of search you must advise them of their BOR.
No one home when about to conduct a SW, what do you do?
a) If you have RGTB that no one home, do not need to announce your arrival
b) You must leave a copy of the SW and the inventory.
c) If not practicable, must be completed within 7 days of the SW being executed.
