pros:

- recycling costs a lot of money
- if items are not washed properly it can become contaminated

pros:
- heat used to burn materials can be used to produce energy
- reduces waste going to landfill
- some ash/waste products can be used for construction of roads
cons:
- produces GHGs/air pollution
- encourages waste as a constant supply is needed to burn

- working with other organisations to achieve the objectives of zero waste plan
- regulating waste management activities: landfill, incinerators, export of waste, WEEE & batteries, collecting & interpreting waste data, and tackling environmental crime
