Structure Medial View Flashcards
Cerebellum
Coordinating motor movement; maintaining posture; learning; receives some sensory information.
Thalamus:
Relays sensory information to cerebrum; various gustatory and visceral information; motor activity.
Ventricles:
- Lateral:
- Third:
- Cerebral Aqueduct: connects 3 and 4.
- Fourth:
Choroid plexus:
Structure that produces CSF.
Septum Pellucidum:
Thin membrane that separates right and left lateral ventricles.
Corpus callosum:
Relays information from right and left hemispheres of cerebrum.
Pineal body:
Produces melatonin (a hormone that regulates circadian rhythm).
Superior and inferior colliculi:
Superior: processes visual information
Inferior: auditory sound center.
Cerebrum:
Movement, sensory processing, olfaction, language and communication, learning and memory.
