Stimulability and Contextual Testing Flashcards
Define Stimulability Testing
Client’s tendency to make correct/improved production of a misarticulated sound when given a model or additional stimulation
Define Contextual Testing
Procedure that can help identify a facilitative phonetic context for correct production of a particular phoneme
List two commercially available resources for contextual testing
- Deep Test of Articualtion (MDT)
2. Clinical Probes of Articulation Consistency (C-PAC)
Describe the MDT
Deep Test of Articulation:
Stimulus item with 2 abutted words- works to find contexts in which each target can be produced correctly (starting point for therapy).
Describe the C-PAC
Clinical Probes of Articulation Consistency:
Testing phonemes in different positions and associations. Measures consistency, identifies successful contexts.
