Q

Licithin/sphingomyclin

L/S test

A

Measures amount of licithin compared to sphingomyclin in amniotic fluid! 2:1 ratio is mature lungs! Usually occures around week 35 and indicates little chance of developing RDS.

16
Q

Shake or foam test

A

Amniotic fluid is mixed with ethanol and shaken for 15 seconds. Lungs are mature if a foam ring remains after 15 mins! If no ring perform L/S test!

17
Q

Non stress test

A

Increase of 15bpm over baseline and lasts 15 sec! Normal reactive(positive) is 2 accelerations durning fetal body movement in 20min window! Negative NST when no accelerations over 2 20 min windows!

18
Q

Positive contraction stress test with negative non stress test

A

Prolonged hypoxia
