Spinning Flashcards
1
Q
What is autorotation?
A
Tendency to roll when near stall speed, leading to a spin.
2
Q
What are the 3 phases of a spin?
A
Incipient, fully developed, spin recovery.
3
Q
What is an incipient spin?
A
Exists from the stall to the fully developed spin.
4
Q
What is a fully developed spin?
A
Angular rotation rate, airspeed and vertical descent are stable.
5
Q
What is spin recovery?
A
When the anti spin forces overcome the pro stall forces.
6
Q
The effect of CG position on a spin.
A
Further forward CG, steeper the spin.
Further aft CG, flatter the spin.
Easier to recover from steep spin.
