predicate
The part of a sentence that expresses what is said of the subject and that usually consists of a verb
subject
The part of sentence that indicates what acts upon the verb. always a noun, pronoun, or noun clause.
superlative
best, worst, fastest, smartest
tautology
Repetition of an idea in a different word, phrase, or sentence. Cease and desist
transitive verb
A verb that can act upon an object. Bought a bagel
