one or more physical Sx that is distressing and or results in disrupting daily life
What is criterion B for Somatic Symptom disorders?
excessive thoughts, feelings, and or behaviors related to these somatic symptoms or associated health concerns

2. persistent high anxiety about Sx

How is chronicity defined in Somatic symptom disorders?
state of being persistently symptomatic
What are the levels of severity for SSD?
Mild: 1
Moderate: 2 or more
Severe: 2 or more + multiple Sx
What is criterion A of factitious disorder?
falsification of physical or psychological Sx or intentional self-injury/disease
What are criteria B & C for SSD?
B. assumes sick role
C. deceptive behavior; Malingering
What are some indications of Factitious disorder?
gridiron abdomen, works a medical position, unusual knowledge of med terms, abuses substances, unusually accepting of surgery
What are some deception Sx?
fabricating events that started Sx
manipulates laboratory tests
falsifies med records
physically injures self/induces illness
