Q

graphs evaluation

A

-always use data

-always first write an overview then go in. comment on patterns and points carefully. max min, rise, steep etc

-look closely and see what type of graph ie if limiting factor (about plants) write in that style

-refer to the x-axis and how it changes the y axis

-anomolous exclude from mean

Q

discontinuous

A

data can only be o a limited set of values ie a group eg blood group, eye colour. frequency bar charts should have gaps between the bars. normally due to set number of genes.

continue data can be any value in a range./ no gaps. due to many genes

Q

CORRELATION

A

A Line graph can reveal a correlation between variables but cannot reveal causation and coincidence. causation can only be verified if all other variables have been controlled and there is scientific evidence of a reason for the causation.

Q

precise accuracy

A

it can vary so u need to look at q carefully

accuracy-how close it is to true value. often external factors affect his
precise-measuring techniques. ie digital thermometer, smallet scale division or larger range of values
can also mean measurements that have little spread around mean value
sometimes using larger values is good as it reduces percentage in the value obtained
