Fraying of superior labrum
Type 2 SLAP tear
Most common
Detachment of superior labrum and long head of biceps from the glenoid
Type 3 SLAP tear
Bucket handle tear of labrum with an intact biceps insertion
Labrum tears and flips down into joint
Type 4 SLAP tear
Bucket handle tear of labrum that extends the biceps tendon
Type 5 SLAP tear
Bankart lesion of the anterior capsule that extends into the anterior superior labrum
Type 6 SLAP tear
Disruption of the biceps tendon anchor with an anterior or posterior superior labral flap tear
Type 7 SLAP tear
Extension of a slap lesion anteriorly to the middle glenohumeral ligament
