Expansion: It expands on “rationalization” (making things more efficient and predictable).
What it stands for: It shows how society becomes more standardized, which can reduce creativity and individuality.
Types of Social Control
Definition: Ways society encourages people to follow rules.

Informal Social Control: Unwritten rules, like peer pressure.
Example: Friends influencing you to dress a certain way.
Formal Social Control: Official rules, like laws.
Example: Getting arrested for breaking the law.
Collective Action
Definition: When people come together to achieve a common goal.
3 Types:
Conventional: Organized actions like protests.
Example: Marching for climate change.
Contentious: Actions that challenge the system, like riots.
Example: Protests that turn into riots.
Cooperative: Working together for mutual benefit, like community projects.

Definition: It’s when a leader’s personal influence is turned into a structured system or organization to keep their impact alive even after they leave.
Why it’s important: It helps movements or organizations continue after the leader is gone by creating rules and structures.

Definition: Knowledge, skills, and education that give people social advantages.
Why it’s important: It helps explain why some people have more opportunities and power than others in society.
